Reading People With Insight Into The ...

1. Relationship More on Relationship
2. Message More on Message and Body Language
3. Context More on Context and Detecting Signs of Lying

The three components for effective connection and communication.

Relationship

Relationship

Knowing other perspectives...

Do you really understand other people?

Can you accurately interpret what happens when people interact?

Can you see the dynamics at play when they communicate?

Do you recognize the four different ways that people speak what appears to be the same language?

The relationship component of reading people with insight is about answering these questions and others that relate to the interactions between people.

We use the DISC model of human behavior as the primary tool to build this understanding.

In our experience, this model provides the simplest and most straightforward approach to accurately reading the relationship component in real life scenarios when the pressure hits.

To develop proficiency with this component, we recommend that you develop a deeper awareness and understanding of the model with our DISC profiles and training.

Message

Message

Reading body language...

Would you like to enhance your ability to read body language?

Do you know what message you are sending with your body language?

You cannot not communicate.

Even when people are silent, they communicate something to other people.

Reading people with insight requires that you know how to read the unspoken message as well as the spoken one.

It calls for understanding what people are saying with the tone and body as well as with their words.

By itself this skill is useful.

Combined with understanding relationship dynamics and common behavioral traits of different types of people through the DISC model of human behavior, it becomes even more powerful.

To develop proficiency with this component, we recommend that you develop greater awareness and understanding with our body language training and resources.

Signs of Lying...

What are the signs when someone is telling a lie?

Do you know them?

Can you recognize the nonverbal signs of lying?

Many people have a "sense" when words and actions do not align.

Some people will tell you that certain behaviors indicate that someone is definitely lying. Well, that’s not necessarily true.

What is your relationship with them? What are their normal body language signs? What is the situation - the context? All of these factors contribute to really reading the whole message.

Only when you view behaviors of an individual through your relationship with them, their nonverbal communication style, and the context of the situation can you really make an informed decision about the other person’s probable intent.

This is a skill highly in demand by people who conduct interviews of all kinds. Hiring managers, police officers, and investigators can learn from our interviewer training courses.
